Gael Clichy Joins Manchester City
Gael Clichy has completed his move to Manchester City for a reported £7 million fee.
The French international left back completed his medical early on Monday and spent the afternoon meeting with club officials to seal his move north from Arsenal and become Roberto Mancini's first summer signing.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has thanked the departing Gael Clichy for ‘eight years of terrific service’.
“We would like to thank Gael for eight years of terrific service to Arsenal, during which time he gave absolutely everything for the club,” he told the club’s official website.
“He has grown and developed so much since joining us in 2003, and has been a crucial part of the team over recent seasons. Gael leaves with our respect and best wishes. We wish him the very best for his future career.”
